Niobe passed away last night.

I think she may have had a stroke some time yesterday; she went very quickly from being interested in food and comfortable napping places and able to move about the cage enough to find them to being almost completely unaware of her surroundings and able to breathe comfortably but not much beyond that. We stayed up with her as long as we could, then took her to bed with us so she could stay warm and not be bothered by the other rats. She finally gave out around 5:45 a.m.

Thank you.

Bugalu is talented; I don't even have that key.

Thank you. She was a very pretty girl, and got complimented by a passing kid on a bike on the way to the vet's this weekend.

Poor ratling. Poor you. I'm sorry.

I'm sorry to hear this. *hugs*

Oh, yay, hugs. I can really use those. It has been a week. (Yeah, so it's only Wednesday. Still been a hell of a week.)

It's not a good time for pets on my flist.

Yeah, these things always seem to cluster.

:( I'm sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss.

My sympathy to you and Niobe's other companions.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I feel very lucky to have been able to meet Niobe before she passed away.

Thank you. She was a sweetie.

Awww, poor fuzz-thing. At least it sounds like she passed in relative comfort. I don't know how you deal with owning such short-lived fuzz-things.

Practice.

And it helps to be expecting it. When a critter that should have had years left gets sick or is hit by a car or something, what's particularly sad is that you're missing all that time you ought to have had. Whereas with Niobe, pretty much the last year was all bonus. I am really lucky to have had her as long as I did.

I am also really lucky to have the three remaining rats I do, and I hope they all set new lifespan records too.

I'm so very sorry.

The problem with four-foots is their lives are so very short.

*hugs* and tea offered.

I am very sorry for your loss. *hugs*
